fine product as far I can tell September 22, 2009 Ostap Bender (MA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
No one is really equipped to evaluate this product on it's quality. The capsules are easy to swallow and do not produce an aftertaste or "burb" for me. One warning: on the product bottle it says:
"Each Carlson NORWEGIAN SALMON OIL soft gels contains 1 gram (1000 mg) of fish oil extracted from salmon and OTHER FISH..."
This seems to contradict the statement in the product description given on Amazon.
That certainly is not he fault of the manufacturer and does not speak negatively to the product quality.
Do yourself a life long favor! September 17, 2007 L. Francis Pinn (Napavine, WA USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am not sure about Carlson price seems a little high. Walmart has 120 mgs at $6.48. Does not matter where you get it, just get it! I can testify without hesitation that taking salmon oil everyday of my life for the last 8 years has greatly improved my life. I up my dosage four years ago to 10,000 mg a day for 4 years (5K in the Am and 5K in the Pm) with no side effects only good clean healthy cholesterol and BP results. I was prescribed the salmon oil (not fish or cod) by a general phsycian not a nutralist, herbal guy or Alaskan shaman. It works in alot of other ways too: memory, stamina, and just general happiness. Bottom Line... It works!
Certified purity, mercury free, easy to swallow/digest, no fish smell January 27, 2009 A. Dent (Minas Anor, GD) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not being a medical doctor or a nutritionist I am not going to make any claims on the benefits of taking this dietary supplement other than stating that, after months of ingesting 2-3 of these 1000mg soft gels daily I continue to be in good health and I am not aware of any side effects. Am I in better health than I would have been had I not taken these? I don't know. That's what medical studies are for and one may trust them or one may not. However, getting back to this product and evaluating IT, this is what I can state as I can compare it with the generic supermarket brand I used to take in the past.
- it's more expensive but not A LOT more expensive
- the gels are softer - makes them easier to swallow
- the gels are a bit smaller - makes them easier to swallow
- unlike the generic brand, they do not seem to stay in my stomach for a long time, feeling like I swallowed a pebble
- certified by some FDA-registered lab(?) to be pure, potent and free of mercury, cadmium, lead, PDB's and a bunch of other contaminants
- no detectable fish smell
To conclude: this product appears to deliver the fish oil at a high level of purity, free of contaminants and packaged as a gel that's easy to swallow and digest. This is what I've been using for quite a while and I am happy enough to be staying with this brand for now.
Best fish oil I ever had. May 13, 2009 S. Modaresi (Rancho Palos Verdes,CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, also I know the benefit of fish oil and specially salmon fish oil that's best in the world specially for heart,I never could have one,I tried all national brands and had a same problem. That damn burp&fishy taste!
With this only a few burps and that's it!
It's also imported from Norway that currently has the least polluted waters in the world,so no heavy metals like lead in this one!
Good Source of Omega 3 June 2, 2010 Hugo Blair (Houston, Texas) Salmon Oil is one of the best Sources of Omega 3 Oil. The Carlson Lab. product is excellent,
